The Board of Trustees, chaired by Ziad Abdelnour is composed of highly distinguished and accomplished leaders who provide overall direction to the Financial Policy Council.

The Board’s mission is provide overall direction and stimulate interaction with important leaders and enhances the Council’s reputation in the industry.

While day-to-day operations are led by the Board of Directors, The Board of Trustees will support the work of the President, Executive Committee, Board of Directors and provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance.

Board of Trustees Key Traits:

  1. Eminence (or recognized standing) in a field relevant to the programs of the Council.
  2. Personal qualities of leadership. Savvy diplomatic skills and a natural affinity for cultivating relationships and persuading, convening, facilitating, and building consensus among diverse individuals.
  3. Acting as Ambassador for the organization along with an ability to represent the Council effectively in international gatherings.
  4. Donor. Provide leadership, contribute ideas and actively advocate for the fundraising and development efforts of the organization.
  5. Participate in one annual meeting of Board of Trustees that would review the strategy, and make recommendations based on  day to day operations of the Board of Directors.

As Founder and Chairman of the Financial Policy Council, Ziad K. Abdelnour is also a Wall Street Financier, Author, Philanthropist,
Activist, Lobbyist, Oil & Gas Trader & President & CEO of Blackhawk Partners, Inc. a New York based private equity “family office” that focuses on originating, structuring, advising and acting as equity investor in management-led buyouts, strategic minority equity investments, equity private placements, consolidations, buildups, and growth capital financing in companies and projects based both in the US and emerging markets and the trading of key physical commodities.

Since 1985, Mr. Abdelnour has been involved in over 125 transactions worth in aggregate over $10 billion in the investment banking, high yield bond and distressed debt markets and has been widely recognized for playing an integral role in those three key market sectors.

Mr. Abdelnour serves on the board of Elate Partners, a Chinese investment group backed by large institutional, strategic and wealthy individual investors from China.

Mr. Abdelnour also serves on the Advisory board of DPG Investments, a recognized premier multi strategy global merchant banking, alternative investment, management and advisory firm.

He is the author of “Economic Warfare: Secrets of Wealth Creation in the Age of Welfare Politics” ; a best seller manuscript written for investors that need to navigate the troubled geopolitical waters of the post-crisis world and a prolific writer for 100+ entrepreneurial and financial publications advising and educating investors in private equity, hedge funds, crowdfunding, Sovereign Wealth Funds, fund-of-funds, angel networks, venture capital and family offices.

Mr. Abdelnour is also a regular speaker on Private Equity, Physical Commodities trading and Middle East geo-political analysis at industry conferences & TV outlets nationwide including but not limited to Fox News, Newsmax, etc… and a key “influencer” in his own right having a hard core constituency of over 2 million viewers having read his blog postings and analyses since January 2014.

Mr. Abdelnour holds an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in Economics, Summa Cum Laude, from the American University of Beirut.

Mark Minevich is Principal Founder of Going Global Ventures (GGV), a New York based global investment, technology and strategic advisory firm, with bench strength and insight into business strategies and best practices dedicated to leading high growth tech clients to success in the global knowledge economy. Mark was recently appointed as Venture Partner at GVA Capital Group – Global Venture capital fund.

Mark is an   associate partner of Blackhawk Partners, Inc. an international family investment group  Mark is also a strategist and advisor to Global Emerging Markets (GEM) a $3.4B NYC-based alternative investment group that manages a diverse set of investment vehicles; he plays an integral role in fundraising.

Additionally, Mark is Senior Advisor of the Council of Competitiveness in Washington DC and a Senior Fellow of the Global Federation of Competitiveness Councils (GFCC); his role is to provide strategic advice and counsel to help guide the Council’s policies at home and abroad. Most importantly,  Mark will be strengthening public policy to the benefit of all Americans  Mark is also on the Advisory Board of TriLinc Global, a US based private investment company dedicated to creating a global platform for impact investing through alternative investment funds.

To keep up with exponential emerging technologies, Mark also serves as a Chief Strategist and Executive Board member of  the multinational Comtrade  Group consisting of business units in product development companies, specializing in gaming, solutions, distribution, application management, travel and hospitality, extended R&D and outsourced products.

Mr. Minevich was CTO and Strategy Executive at IBM and has held various management, technology and strategy roles where he formulated the strategy of the Venture Capital Incubation program which provided LP investments to venture capital/incubators, coaching over 100 portfolio startups and generating USD2bn in revenue. Over the years, Mark’s deep focus has been on cultivating a multi-disciplinary approach to solving complex global challenges in the tech sector as a Vice Chairman,  CTO/CIO and Chief Strategy Officer (and an Advisor) at several top flight companies including   Sustainia/Monday Morning Global Institute (Denmark), , Research Board (Gartner company, international think tank to Chief Information Officers of the world’s largest corporations  Deutsche Bank, BTM Corporation, Geotek Communications,  Qwest Communications, Comcast, and USWEB/CKS — with a specific passion for driving innovation, creativity and sustainability both in the US and abroad.

Mark Minevich includes 20 years of experience as  business strategist and technology innovation consulting for the global technology markets which made him an influential authority on technology and particularly the role of the CIO/CTO. HIs unique experience and background in business strategy, technology, and innovation, his global orientation and expertise, and his exposure to working in the corporate, private, tech and investment sectors combine to make Mark an invaluable contributor to senior management in whatever endeavors and opportunities he is invited to participate in.

Mark was founder of the Billion Minds Foundation and Club, a global private foundation and investors club of high networth families. Mark organized Global Billions Club- Private Wealth Business Club programs in Europe, Asia and North America, and assembled top philanthropists, industrialists, financiers, family holdings, investment groups/institutions and entrepreneurs around the world with combined networth of billions of dollars. In addition, over the years Mark has He was a founding member of TLC- Technology Leadership Council, lead several CTO clubs and private CxO roundtables. He is a recipient of the prestigious Albert Einstein Award for Outstanding Achievement on global  innovation and World Trade Leadership Award by World Trade Centers and WTCA.


Steve Stevanovich

Special Advisor

Mr. Steve G. Stevanovich is the Chairman and CEO of SGS Global Holdings which holds control investments in a number of technology companies in various industries, including clean energy and aerospace and has over 30 years of experience in international investing.

Mr. Stevanovich is a member of the Board of Governors of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Argonne National Laboratory. He is a member of the University of Chicago Board of Trustees where he sits on a number of committees, including the University’s Audit Committee. He serves on the Board of Advisors to the University’s Master of Science Program in Financial Mathematics and on the Council of the Booth School of Business.

He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the U.S. Council on Competitiveness and sits on various other corporate and fund boards including the Board of Advisors of GVA Capital.

In 2007 Steve endowed the Stevanovich Center for Financial Mathematics, and in 2015 he endowed the Stevanovich Institute on the Formation of Knowledge.

Mr. Stevanovich holds an AB in Economics from the University of Chicago as well as an MBA from the University’s Booth School of Business.
